Frank Miller is officially the fucking shit. Sin City is so sick and I know everyone and their grandmomma loved The Dark Knight. Last night, I checked out The Spirit which came out on Christmas. I love Frank Miller's directing style and his creations of good guys with an edge. The cast alone should make you get up and check it out. Eva Mendez, nuff said.
I haven't really done a movie recognition in a little bit. Another big movie I used to love when I was younger was He Got Game directed by Spike Lee. Basically, Ray Allen plays Jesus Shuttlesworth, an aspiring and promising baller from Coney Island. Denzel plays his father, who is incarcerated for accidentally murdering his wife. Watch the movie to understand the "accidentally" lol. The movie outlines the pressures of a rising professional athlete to super stardom. From girl troubles to the unwanted pressure of the media, everyday is a struggle. On a side note, y'all need to go out and check out Seven Pounds.
One of my favourite gangster movies. Film follows the American dream mentality and stays true to it's nature. Ace Boogie (Wood Harris) is forced to deal with the 1980's drug scene in order to survive but begins to feel conscience of his actions. Money Mitch (Mekhi Phifer) is the cool kid who gets love from everybody and is flashy and fresh. Rico (Cam'ron) is a grimey cold blooded killer who will do anything for money. If you like a story that takes you through the motions, this is the movie for you. Deceit, Drugs, and Money. The American Dream.
One of my favourite flicks of all time. Johnny Deep, & Benicio Del Toro do an amazing job. Rent it, Buy it, whatever just watch it. Make sure your on some sort of drug so that you get the full experience. Here are some stills,& the trailer.
When you hear this song, you will forever remember the intro to Belly. Classic film. This scene is permanently scarred into our mind. Hype Williams will always have this under his belt, and never will be forgotten.
